How to start a home business in Sims 2 open for business?

I’ve read in several places that to start a home business in the sims 2 you have to either click on a phone or computer and choose the business option. The problem is…there is no business tab when i click on either of these items. There’s a “real estate” tab, but not business….
Anybody know why? and how i can start the home business?
I have the expansion pack.

maybe because there is a diffrent types of sims and yours don’t have business in it

Yes, that is how you do it. Try uninstalling and installing the game again, and see if it does the trick.
If it doesn’t work, you could either get help or just buy a place in the neighbourhood and sell stuff there.
You might have a hack that is incompatible with Open for Business. Copy your Downloads folder and paste it to your desktop. Then run your game and see if the home business option appears. If it does, then you know it is something in your Downloads folder causing the problem. It will probably be a hack. Hacks can be identified by using Cleaninstaller. They will show up in red.
You will have to remove all your hacks then keep adding them back one by one to find out which one is causing the problem.
